As per the latest numbers revealed by APCMA, cement dispatches in Oct’14 increased by 6.6%YoY to 2.82mn tons from 2.65mn tons in the same period last year.
Domestic offtakes increased 6.2%YoY to 2.09mn tons while exports increased 7.8%YoY to 0.73mn tons.
4MFY15 sales increased by 5.15%YoY to 10.98mn tons from 10.45mn tons, with local dispatches witnessing an increase by 8.87%YoY to 8.20mn tons while exports showing a decline of 4.43%YoY to 2.79mn.
On MoM basis, due to eid holidays total dispatches in Oct’14 declined by 10% with local sales declining by 14% and exports remaining flat.
Local dispatches in North have seen impressive increase of 9%YoY in the month of Oct’14 while 4MFY15 sales has seen increase of 10%YoY.
Exports have shown signs of recovery with subdued dispatches to Afghanistan being compensated by increased offtakes to India and Africa.
Oct’14 sales up 6.6%YoY with local and exports uptick
Oct’14 dispatches saw improvement by 6.61%YoY to 2.82mn tons on the back of local sales growth of 6.21%YoY to 2.09mn tons vs 1.97mn tons in Oct’13 supplemented by exports growth of 7.8%YoY to 0.73mn tons vs 0.68mn tons in Oct’13. On MoM basis, Oct’14 dispatches fell 10% on the back of eid holidays. Overall the dispatches growth in 4MFY15 stood at 5.15% increasing to 10.98mn tons vs. 10.45mn tons in the corresponding period last year.
